www.fitnessdestinations.com – There are a lot of people that think they can’t do P90X because they either don’t have a pull up bar, or don’t have a place in their home where they can put one. This video describes 2 different ways that you can still do P90X, even without the pull up bar. As with all P90X workouts, there are ways to modify the exercises so that you can still get the results, even if the circumstances of your life aren’t “ideal”. Find ways to BRING IT, and watch the RESULTS happen!

Ok I have a pull up bar but the only door way it fits in is my bath room door way and idk if I should just pause the video then run across my house and do the pull ups and chin ups or should I just use weights o and I did t but p90x my cousin gave me a copy on my USB but idk how to play a USB movie on anything my pc it in a tiny little room and that’s not going to work but please tell me what u think thanks
Ninja – Yeah, definitely just pause the DVD and then go do all of your reps. Pulls ups/chin ups leave you so winded that the break after you go back to push play isn’t going to hurt you. Rock on!
this is great man, thanks. I got nowhere to either put a pull up or a resistance band in my small house lol.
very helpful and informative. thank you!
im new to this but do pullups work on your back and arms?
if so..does this do the same
Juumdd – You can get a cloth “dongle” from Amazon that only costs a few bucks. It goes over the top of ANY door, and it has a loop that you can put resistance bands through. Works like a charm!
Mr. Jojo – You’re welcome!
Crystal – Yes, pullups work your back, shoulders, and biceps (top of the arm). The primary muscles uses are the large muscles in the back, but the shoulders are used a lot as well, and the biceps assist part of the movement as well.
Aaron, thank you! I start my P90x workout this August, but I am moving into my college dorm in September so I was worried about not being able to do pull-ups and chin-ups. All the equipment online and in stores either require me to put screws somewhere in the room or are really expensive pieces of equipment.
Quick question: You talk about heavy dumbbells. Is there a certain weight-to-dumbbell weight ratio or what do you recommend for quantifying a heavy but reasonable weight? Thanks again.
Thank you so much
is this officially a pull up replacement, are you sure this is a back excercise i dont mean to question your word its just that i did the 90 days of p90x with weights to later find out i was doing a shoulder excercise instead of back so i just wanna be sure
Judenz – Any back exercise is going to use your rear deltoids (back of the shoulder) to a certain degree, but the idea is to keep the majority of the work being done by your back. Keep the weights close to your body, as low on your back as you can, and always bend your elbows. The further the weight is from your body, the higher towards your shoulders you hold it, and the straighter your arms are, the more you will engage your shoulders instead of your back.
Thank you so much; this is exactly what I needed!
My pleasure, Superboiii – glad you got some value out of it!
what about using a lebert eqaulizer?
This is great. I can’t get a pull up bar right now and I always wondered how I could modify. Going to start January 1. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much! Helped me a lot!
Thanks a lot! What would you recommend for the weight of the dumbbells? I haven’t ever done any type of working out.
Thanks…I was looking for an alternative to pull ups and chin ups using the pull up station and resistance bands…
@UltimateMarvel1 No problem! Glad it helped you out!
@WallyVaio As with all resistance training, it depends on your goals. If you want larger muscles, go with weights that you can only do 8-10 repetitions before you can’t do any more. Rest, repeat, and do that for 3 or 4 sets for every exercise.
@Svninja10 No problem!
@mellowdee9 2 weeks into the New Year, Mellowdee. Did you get started on track?
@JayeFahFah I don’t know that a lebert equalizer is, so I don’t know how effective it would be.
@aaronmp2003 I was doing it all wrong.Thank you so much man!
@LordRASPUTN You are most welcome!
Great video!
