I don’t want to buy them. Can’t I just skip that section altogether or sub in pull up bars for weights?

My roommate bought one of those door jam pull up bars, what can I do with it?

okay I know they have those neww pull up bars that just go up and come down but I have the classic screw in wall pull up bar but my mom wont let me put it up because she says it will damage the door because it must be screwed in. Is there a way to put it up without screwing it and damaging the door?
my question is can i put the pull up bar I have now up another way except screwing it in.

What’s best between these two? Or are they relatively the same thing?

Can I get the same muscle workout with resistance bands as I can with pull up bars?

I am getting p90x but none of the pull up bars fit my door frames. I need an alternative for what a pull up bar will give me OR an alternative for another place to put it. Any suggestions would be great! ;)

If it starts off as once a week or something, does this change as the workouts progress?

I can’t install those screw-in pull up bars where I live, and I’m too scared to use the ones that don’t screw in because I feel they’re unsafe. Would it be unwise to just skip pull-up-bar related exercises altogether?

Hi, I was wonder if there are any pull up bars that I can buy that don’t require screws.I heard about one that can fit in your door war and doesn’t require screws, but I don’t know the name of it. Does anyone know any? I want to exercise but I dont want holes in my wall

I do pull-ups on my door by putting a cloth over the top of my door and pulling myself up until my chin is above the top of the door. I can do around 10 pull-ups (all the way up and all the way down) before I get tired. I was just wandering what muscles this exercise would work out.
Thanks in advance guys.
P.S I don’t use one of those pull-up bars that attach to the door. I just use the door itself.

well ive just being thinking about getting a pull up bar!
What muscles do the pull up bars work on???

Hey , which of these pull up bars would you choose?
For wall mounting :

My room is in the basement and I have a ton of space but there’s no door way except at the top of the stairs and that wouldn’t be safe. What alternatives do I have? Are there affordable pull up bars that stand up from the floor?
To the genius who suggested that I put a pull-up bar over my doorway: how about if you actually read the question! I clearly explained why I can not do that!

I am putting together a calisthenics training area in my yard and I want the same level of sturdiness, weatherproof quality and durability as the pull up bars, dip stations and monkey bars in the public parks of NY/NJ because I am already a weightlifter/power lifter and not wasting money on door jamb pull up bars and things that won’t support 300lbs + on a daily basis. And if I can avoid it, I’d rather not have to guy all the steel and have it welded independently because I can imagine that may be expensive.

I need to get a pull up bar at home, I’ve seen those which you mount onto the door frames, but my door frames only stick out 0.5cm, and I doubt those will be able to stay up there. I’ve also heard that they have those which are nailed onto the walls but I’d prefer to keep my walls as they are. Are there any other types of pull-up bars or will the removable ones fit on my door frame?

I’m moving to New Zealand in a few days and will start the p90x program there. I wanted to buy a pull up bar and cant seem to find any pull up bars in any store in new zealand from searching online (not rebel sports, stirling sports, elite fitness equipment etc.)

So it seems my only option is to buy one in the US and take it with me to New Zealand. So if anyone could help me, I wanted to know the weight of the P90X pull up bar to calculate if I can even take it in my luggage, or if anyone knows if there’s a pull up bar in New Zealand in the same style that wont hurt the door frame, and where to buy it.
I just don’t want to spend the 50-70 dollars shipping and handling to ship from the US to NZ.

thank you …
